results from audience research

From my results from my audience research when asking 4 questions:

What type of music do you listen to?

What things draw your attention in a music magazine?

How often do you buy a music magazine?

What issues do you have with music magazines?

I found out that the from my research the majority of the response show that they liked either dance or dubstep or house music. this is very important because these forms of electro pop music have resently became popular with the emergence of Katy b and magnetic man a new youthful genre has been create. Before i wanted to a R&B magazine, but from this information i have changed my mind and dicided to do something totally different which would set me appart from other music magazines.

The response i got back from the second question was that the layout of the magazine is very important in order to stop the magazine from looking crowded with information, so people said that it actually puts them of from buying that specif magazine. Therefore i will have to keep this in mind, also the image and the recognition of a popular artist are important to draw the attention of the audience.

When asked how often they brought music magazines, no one of them brought music magazines in the past year, due to the emergence of the interent and accessesing free information on the internet, they don't think it is nessessary. One person believed that magazines are no longer unique in promoting good music but instead follow the crowd promoting the same genres of music and calling it a different genre, therefore when doing House magazine i have to stick to House and Electro pop music.

Main issue considered with music magazines is that they are one too expensive and plus they don't offer relevant information that you can't find on the internet, therefore i will have to try and fing the most exclusive stories and make sure they relate to the genre i am promoting.
